82d Tiger moth 1/5 scale
By Premier Models
This kit ia a Premier Models Kit which as long been taken over. When I first opened the box I was to find it cram pack full of balsa and once built I still had quite a bit over. The balsa was a very good quality and the kit cost me about £110 and there are still some of these kits still about.
At the time of buying this model I had problems finding a Tiger moth as the only one about was Flair, And was luck to get this one, when I got to the shop it was covered in dust but its not come out to bad I think. Now there are loads of moths to choose from, but now my self I also have the Flair Moth.
It's covered in Solatex there are some plastic parts, like the front of the plane which now have been converted to balsa. And is fitted with a Magnum 91four stroke with a 13x6 prop.
I used snakes to control the rudder and elevator, but now I have flown the Flair which has the lop system I wished now that I fitted that system to this model. Because to enjoy flying a moth rudder is the main control, and snakes on a windy day are not man enough and start to bend. Because to enjoy flying a moth rudder is the main control, and snakes on a windy day are not man enough and start to bend. And fails to give youu complete control , but this is only my experience.
The cockpit detail cost me half the price as the plane did but does finish it of well. All these photo's were taken at my club site at North Weald Flying Field This moth is a great one to get as a first in it's style of plane, and you can pick them up second hand quite easy in Mag's or on the net for a good price.
