Ghost Squadron Binham Summer 2013

August is the second of the Ghost Squadron flying holidays, that is set in the heart of the Norfolk countryside in a quiet village called Binham. That hosts a all day pub a fresh butcher a corner shop that stocks everything you could ever want including a petrol station, Binham itself is only 3 to 4 miles away from Wells Next To The Sea. A nice turn out for the 8 day break, and weather is meant to be good for the week. People start to turn up from 9am on the Wednesday morning and by mid day gliders were in the air.

The two 1/2 scale vintage gliders at the back of the picture belong to John and Tony of the Ghost Squadron

There is quite a range of gliders, tugs and powered planes Always a covering of gliders on the field ready to be towed up, with the tugs working throughout the day.

John Greenfield connecting up the tow line to the glider. The first row of caravans can be seen, with a second row up on the slope, and the grass is cut like a golf course, thanks to our host Andrew the owner and also part of the Ghost Squadron

And Josh my little helper through the week, get my tow loop out of the bucket

Gliders come in all shapes and sizes to this event, also some very nive scale powered models

John Greenfield is doing his triangular circuit racing, that John is the worlds number 2

I would like to say a big thanks to Andrew John and the rest of the Ghost Squadron team for a great weeks flying.
